STILL THE ONE.
.
After 7 years and almost 85k miles in my care , I still love this car just as much as the day I test drove it, and that’s made the most clear to me on backroadtrip days when I’m flogging the ever-loving shit out of it for many hours & hundreds of miles at a time. MT’s Arthur St. Antoine once said it was “ the greatest all-around car in the world ”, and it’s hard for me to argue with that . Hope it works out for me to keep this one forever.

Now, to schedule my next track day...

4 years and 10 months in, mine still never fails to put a smile on my face.

That’s pretty much how I feel about my truck, which in internet logic means you must be wrong and I must now draw correlation between you and Hitler.

They may be temperamental mistresses at times, but damn, when it’s good, it’s really good.

They’re hidden gems that really shine in areas where the W204 AMG doesn’t. Loving the notes up high. Especially in colours like Silverstone, or any of the later frozen offerings.

Is the E9X M3 the performance Camry (in terms of commonality) of Oppo?

That sound...

8000+ RPM and a manual transmission will never get old. =)

And the last BMW with real steering feel.

Perhaps?

There are like 5 (more?) E9x M3 owners in these parts.

In a coupe months it will be 2 years of ownership with by E90. Now, mine is a lowly 325i but after my first track day it was apparent to me why BMW has been regarded with having driving dynamics as priority.

A brilliantly balanced chassis, smooth engine, strong brakes even on this base ass version. After a couple sessions the car didn’t skip a beat and just felt at home.

E90 M3 is a bucket list car of mine, hope you continue to enjoy it.

Love your beautiful blue! Before the F30, every BMW definitely had “chops” and would handle beautifully, regardless of powerplant. Awesome that you’ve gotten your out to the track.

Thank you. It really is a great time to buy an E9x M3 - seems like they’re reaching the bottom of their depreciation curve, and low-mile, all-original versions can bring high prices.

Once you’re ready, find a well-maintained 1 or 2 owner example and if it’s got 100k+  miles, just account for doing a $2k rod bearing swap for peace of mind and then drive it like you stole it!

Agreed. Just drove a 7500 mile comp pack M3 with the 6 speed the other day and it was a total blast. Manual BMWs just always feel right to drive, whether its an E30 or an F80.

Being in Mexico gives a few advantages about my future E9X M3 plan.

1) They aren’t as expensive as they are in the US (There is a Frozen Grey example right now for the equivalent of 25k USD and less than 30k miles on sale ).

2) Mileage is much much lower.

3) Most are treated with care as they aren’t daily drivers. Even if you had the money, your daily driver is your chauffeured driven Suburban.

4) Labor is inexpensive, so a Rod Bearing job and other maintenance is much less than in the US.

The issue is there aren’t many of them...

Agreed. Paddles can be fun, but ill be driving manual as long as it’s allowed and I’m physically capable
